Happy Father’s Day

Any man can give a woman a child, but not every man can be a good father to that child. Today, as I reflect on the significance of Father’s Day, I want to wish a happy one to my fabulous husband, my two fathers, and all the wonderful dads out there, fathering their own children and the children of other men.

When I think of great fathers, my husband immediately comes to mind. Happy Father’s Day to my husband aka “My Baby Daddy”. It is a joy to watch you father our children. You gave me three wonderful children (one by marriage, and two biological). You are the best example of what a man should be like to our boys. Over the years, I have witnessed your tremendous sacrifice and hard work to ensure that your children have a better life than you did. I love you very much and I feel incredibly blessed to have you as the father of my children. Judging from the way they adore you, I know they appreciate all that you do and love you very much.

To my biological dad Peter, thank you for loving me, challenging my mind and validating my big dreams. Happy Father’s Day, Dad. I love you always. To my father by marriage, Ken, thanks for always being there. I am sure that it is not easy to raise another man’s child, but I never heard you complain. I am really grateful that you were the one God chose to be my other dad. I admire your quiet wisdom. Love you Papa. I also want to wish my father- in -law, Justin, a Happy Fathers Day. Thank you for giving your son the best example of what a husband and father should be like.

To all the sperm donors out there, if you have a child somewhere in this world and your relationship is strained, it’s never too late to be a good dad. Sperm donation is easy, fatherhood is hard, but rewarding. When you do your job well, we will have a world filled with well adjusted men and women. Thank you, to all the men who are doing it right.

You do not have to be in a relationship with your child’s or children’s mother to be a good father to them. I also say this to the women who make it difficult for fathers to have a great relationship with their children because they are no longer in a relationship with them. A man can be a bad husband or boyfriend to you, but a good father to your children . Fellas, never allow anyone to keep you away from your children. You do not need permission to be a good father.

On the note, I take this opportunity to wish a Happy Fathers Day to all the amazing dads out there.

Blessings
