Happy Anniversary Honey
I want to wish a Happy Anniversary to my fabulous husband. Today marks 17 years of marriage. The truth is, it feels like 7 years. What a ride it has been. Through the years we have developed an amazing partnership, friendship but nothing comes before our love affair. You are still the one.
After 17 years of marriage, I have had a lot of time to reflect. I can say with absolute certainty that it is very important to like the person you love. Honey, I really like you. I like listening to you, spending time with you, seeing you succeed. I like every season I spend with you. I love the fact that we are going in the same direction, all the time. As you told me last year when we were having one of our discussions, “Whatever page, you are on, that is the page I am on.” We have forged our own path by being on the same page. We are not trying to be like anyone else, we like each other. This is not an act. This is real.
It is easy to get married. It is hard to stay married.When I was little, I used to wonder how can two people stay married for so long? Well, now I get it. You have set the bar so high, it is hard for another man to compete with you. Who else will get up from his bed to make me cereal in the middle of the night, even when he is tired? 💕#irreplaceable
It is easy to stay together when you like each other, and prioritize respecting and loving each other. God has truly blessed us, and for that I am truly grateful. Our children are indeed our greatest blessing, but you have always made it clear that they are not our marriage. We are not married because of them. They met us happily married.
I feel like we are living our best lives. We are a complete puzzle. Every year, every experience, good or bad, are important parts of this puzzle. Our happy marriage is a direct result of our positive vibes and our reluctance to give up on a love that is unique, unpretentious and keeps growing every year.
Today, I say thank you for the unconditional love, the laughter and the RESPECT. Everyone wants to know the secret. The secret is making sure that there are no secrets, let your partner know what is on your mind. Men cannot read minds. However, if he really loves you, he will do whatever it takes to make you happy.
