Ducky’s Seafood In Mayaro, Trinidad

Lobsters

Unknown to many people, I spent a great part of my childhood in Mayaro, Trinidad during my Easter and summer vacations. Needless to say, I became very curious about “all the hype” surrounding this popular food spot in Ortoire Mayaro, that specializes in selling roast fish and lobster. I was told that I have to visit this place called Ducky’s , named after the owner.

Full disclosure, my husband and I have known Ducky for several years. We used to buy fish from him when we visited my aunt and uncle in Mayaro, Trinidad. I am so proud of Ducky and how he has transformed his fishing business into a very popular local and tourists destination. His roast fish is amazing, with loads of local seasonings and roasted in a outdoor brick oven.

My favorite by far at Ducky’s, is the lobster. I have never seen lobster that big in my life! Not to mention, tasty.

I first visited Ducky’s Ortoire, in December of 2019, just to see what everyone was talking about. Let’s just say I had to go back in February, upon my return to Trinidad. It was that good. It’s a laid back vibe, with exquisite Caribbean flavor. The lines are always long, as people drive from all over Trinidad to sample “the goodness”. I can’t say I blame them.

Ducky’s Seafood in Ortoire Mayaro, is now a “must do” when we are in Trinidad. It seems like I am not the only person that feels this way, as many other locals , as well as celebrities frequent this popular seafood spot in Ortoire, Mayaro. He is located on the right hand side, just after the Ortoire bridge, if you are heading to Mayaro. If you don’t believe me, go check it out for yourself and tell him, Basia sent you.

Yo, the lobster is off the chain! I shall return😜
