Sometimes I Just Stand At The Door And Stare At The Rain

By Basia Alicia Powell

I am always grateful. No matter what is taking place, I always rise above it in gratitude. I always manage to see obstacles in a positive light.

They did not make me, so they cannot break me.

You see, I am aware that I am not in control of my life, and I also trust that God always does what is best for me. He never takes anything from me without giving me better. Believe that.

I have been through the fire and  came out shining like a diamond. For this reason, I am not afraid of challenges, I focus on the delivery, on “the shine”. I was never someone who expected things to be handed to me on a platter. I am ALWAYS prepared to grind for what I want.

Rain,  sun or snow,  I keep it popping.  I don’t work to live, I live to work. I am made from rubber. I bounce back! I learnt a long time ago that bad “$itches don’t cry”, and the world owes me nothing. I am here to give back and make a difference on this planet.

Today, as I stand looking out at the rain, I do so with gratitude.  I appreciate the water pouring down from the heavens. It is a sure sign of abundance and provisions. It is meant to feed the grass of the field and animals in the wild. Hopefully,  it will also out the horrific fires in California. It is also a sign that the sun don’t always shine, and it is ok, to play in the rain and get our hair wet, as we did when we were children.

My point is, you can choose your response to everything that is happening around you. So what if it is raining? You are alive. Some of you may choose to complain about the rain, while others may decide to play in the rain, and just be grateful and happy.
