Yesterday was amazing. I am very grateful to all my family and friends who took time out from their busy lives to wish me a Happy Birthday.  I appreciate every message, “shout out” on social media, every phone call, every video call. My neighbor brought me a cake with candles‼️You name it, I got it.

I had no idea that it was possible for me to enjoy a birthday so much during a pandemic, being away from family and close friends. My sisters/cousins, sisters-in-law, sister-friends, parents and parents-in-law all showed up for me virtually. I feel incredibly blessed

The past few months have been rough psychologically, but my husband and my tribe made sure that I felt celebrated and loved during a pandemic. The highlight for me was an intimate dinner with my hubby and sons, followed by my surprised virtual birthday party/lime.  It was Epic‼️

I was stunned that people who were on different time zones (Caribbean,  Europe, U.S.) made time to celebrate with me. How was it possible to have a virtual party and we all left happy and tired like we went to a birthday dinner or party?

At the end of the day, what this year has reinforced for me is the importance of family, gratitude and loyalty.
Many people believe that their riches are in the bank and their self worth is equivalent to their networth. I beg to differ because my riches are attached to my life experiences and the people I love and who love me back unconditionally.

Yesterday and last night, I was reminded that these are the people who will be there no matter what, and I have their backs and they will always have mine. They are my “Day Ones”. We were like this before the pandemic and we will be like this after it is gone. So thank you to my tribe for one of the best birthdays I have ever celebrated…#Basiastyle❤
