She has a CPA and is a trader and portfolio manager.  Prior to BlackRock she worked at MKP Capital a Hedge Fund and Deloitte.

In early 2021, Alana Beaubrun launched Single Moms Succeed, a labour of love in honour of her late husband Francis, who died from cancer in 2011. Single Moms Succeed is a forum to celebrate life, growth & wellness and it chronicles Alana’s ten-year journey as a single mom, a widow, a corporate executive and an entrepreneur. Alana believes that we all have it in us to succeed and find our happiness in this world. Through Single Moms Succeed, she engages a community of women, and builds a safe forum for support, empowerment and sharing. 

Alana, by profession, is an HR Executive & Board Director with over 25 years of Human Resource experience. She currently supports a multinational corporation and has Global HR oversight for six countries – USA, Canada, Chile, Egypt & New Zealand on a part time & flexible basis. However, her passion for Human Resources and Learning also led her to establish a consultancy firm, Harmony HR, to serve the Human Resource needs of small to medium businesses in the Caribbean.

She holds a Master of Arts (MA) in Human Resource Management from the University of West London and a BSc in Sociology & Management from the University of the West Indies. She is also a Certified Member of the British Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development, CIPD.

She still balances the busy life of a successful, single, career woman with managing a household and raising a son. She has travelled extensively for work & spoken at conferences & events on the Human Resource profession as well as being a single mom and the spouse of a cancer victim. Alana, always believing in supporting others, also takes time to coach & mentor young female leaders with great joy. 

Alana supports her local shelter for victims of domestic violence and served on its Executive Committee for many years until 2019. She still volunteers at the Shelter, providing healthy lunches for shelter victims & their children on a regular basis. You can keep up with her on Instagram.

Carine Gathers

Carine Gathers

Carine Gathers is currently an Executive Sales Representative for Janssen Pharmaceuticals in their Cardiovascular and Metabolism division calling on Cardiologists to discuss Janssens Factor Xa inhibitor. Her 20+ year career in healthcare began as an Account Executive in Public Relations where she consulted for several top pharmaceutical companies. There she realized she had an aptitude for the pharmacology and biology of treatments and migrated her career to working on the client side.

Since then, she has built and grown relationships with Cardiologists, Endocrinologists, Nephrologists and Primary Care providers across the New York tri-state area creating programming and curriculum around efficacy and competitive positioning for those therapies. She is frequently ranked in the top 10% are companies.

In her spare time (what spare time) she owns and manages real estate in Harlem and is a consultant for the private equity backed company, Beautycounter, where she manages a team in Texas and New Jersey.She is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

As a mom of two daughters under 6, she has become a staunch supporter of edTech ventures in early education. She holds a BA from Hampton University, where she was the Editor of the university newspaper, the Hampton Script.The Nashville, TN native who now calls New Jersey home enjoys the Peloton, Pilates and a great bottle of Champagne.
