Basia Magazine

We have featured the leading Caribbean celebrities on the covers of Basia Magazine. If I had a chance to go back in time, I would do it all over again. I had the most amazing conversations with some pretty phenomenal people. I was told secrets about pregnancies, rivalry etc.

Former Miss World, Cindy Breakspeare

I also learnt a lot from all my interviews. While some personalities were obsessed with being famous, many of them were focused on being the best at their professions and wanted to make sure their real stories were told. Many were driven by the pursuit of international recognition for their talent.

Every interview was important to me. Some interviews stood out more, because some people were more authentic than others. Some wanted to craft a story and others really had a story to tell. One of my favorite magazine interviews to date was that of former Miss World, Cindy Breakspeare. She was warm and authentic, as she opened up about her life with the late great Bob Marley , to a young woman eager to make her mark in the publishing world.

Many of my magazine interviews with leading Caribbean celebrities were special. Among the ones I remember to this day are the interviews with “The Voice” winner, Tessanne Chin (before she won The Voice), and King David Michael Rudder . At the start of my interview with Ridder, I thought I was about to interview him about his music, but instead, I received a history lesson on West Indies cricket and I enjoyed it!

Cheers

Basia
