This book is based on a true story. It is written by the mother of Ross Powell, a boy with autism. Rossi as he is affectionately called, is also a gifted artist who loves to draw and design. He was diagnosed with autism at 2 years old, after his parents noticed his speech was delayed, along with other related behaviors.
