Elevating your home or garden for spring does not have to break the bank. It simply requires creativity. Here are the key factors to consider when redecorating for spring on a limited budget:
Color
Did someone say color? Color is everything.
- Add colorful throw pillows to any space, living room, den or back patio.
- Paint an accent wall. Colors like hunter green, powdered blues, and sage green are very popular choices this season.
- If you cannot afford to tile your patio flooring, consider painting the concrete flooring in a neutral color. (Be sure to get advice on the best types of paint used for concrete flooring.)
- Visit flee markets etc where you can find affordable wall art pieces.
- Go to yard sales or re-upholster existing furniture.
Foliage and Flowers
Foliage and Flowers are a fun way to brighten up your garden and create an affordable and spectacular front entrance. Plants like lily, butterfly bush and others can refresh your garden and elevate your space. Don’t forget to add herbs like basil, rosemary and mint, your garden will thank you. My personal favorites are succulents. You can get as many plants as you want out of one succulent plant. they are easy to set in a pot. You can even add artificial plants to your patio and entry areas. This is another low maintenance approach that can add warmth and coziness to your space and will last from season to season.
Scent and Senses
The use of plug-ins air fresheners and scented candles can help create a cozy mood with your decor. Even artificial flame candles can light up the vibe. Solar and string lights don’t cost a lot but adds a lot to the ambience of the exterior of your home. You can even create floral decor from your succulents, foliage and herb plants like rosemary and mint, to add a wellness scent and feeling your home.
Create A Cozy Corner
Every back yard or patio needs a cozy spot to hang out and have drinks with family and friends. I love to purchase accent pieces for my home that I can use both indoor and outdoor. I am a huge fan of recycling my decor. To make my outdoor even cozier, you can add wind chimes, solar lights, bird baths, benches, hammocks, lanterns and other garden accent pieces etc.
Decorating your home and garden for spring does not require a huge budget. It simply requires some recycling, creativity and purchasing affordable accent pieces from flee markets, the dollar store, yard sales and antique stores.
